Culture Fair

Hey Friends!

We're excited to kick off plans for our very first Culture Fair - a school-wide event celebrating the incredible diversity of our families and community!

From the cities we come from to the sports we play and love, this fair will highlight the unique traditions, foods, music, clothing, languages, and athletic pride that make each culture shine!

Whether you want to share your family's heritage, showcase a hometown team, or bring in flavors from your favorite city - this is your moment to represent and introduce it to our Woodbury Elementary Community!

We're inviting families to participate by hosting booths, sharing performances, bringing cultural items, or helping organize this exciting event. Let's come together to educate, celebrate, and inspire one another.

Let's make this an unforgettable celebration of who we are--together!

Proposed Date: Thursday, September 4, 2025  

Here are a few Culture Booth Ideas:

• Taste of Your City or Country - share small bites from your culture - store bought is fine!

• Language Corner - Teach simple words or phrases in your native language

• Dress to impress - Display or wear traditional clothing (and tell us about it)

• Cultural Arts - Offer fun games or crafts (such as origami, marbles, henna, t-ball station, knee hockey)

• Photo Spot - Set up a cultural backdrop or props for photo opportunities for the community

• Music & Dance - Play cultural music and have a small live performance and maybe lessons

• Hometown Highlights - Showcase landmarks, food, and facts about your city

• Festival Fun - Highlight a holiday, celebration, or event

• Team Spirit - Represent your favorite team with gear and trivia

• Try it out - Mini games like mini soccer kicks, hockey stick shooting, or basketball free throws

• Olympic Nations - Represent a country and its Olympic sports history

• Jersey Station - Show off jerseys or uniforms from different sports and countries

• Scouting America - Cub scouts share adventure, values, and traditions of Scouting America! Showcase uniforms, badges, and gear that represent a legacy of learning and service

• Art - The sky is the limit: necklace making, friendship bracelets, keychains, how-to-draw
